Hey. This is my first cooking blog. In todays post we will be going through cooking dumplings/pelmeni. It’s a russian easy to cook food when in a hurry or lazy.

First off, let’s start with what you need to follow this tutorial.

  • Bag of dumplings
  • Kettle
  • Clean water
  • Fork
  • Beef bouillon cube or salt and pepper
  • Vodka (russian food needs russian drinks)
  • Glass (optional)

1 - After you have gathered your ingredients you should start boiling the water.


2 - While the water is heating up you want to unpack your bouillon cube.


3 - If you still have extra time you can pour your vodka in a glass*. * = you may drink your vodka from the bottle


4 - Add the cube in to the water once its pretty much boiling. optional: take a sip of your vodka and repeat step 3 if necessary.


5 - Add the dumplings in to the water once the water is boiling. optional: take a sip of your vodka and repeat step 3 if necessary.


6 - You may want to occasionally stir the pot so that the dumplings wont get burnt to the bottom. Let the dumplings boil for 5-7 minutes. optional: Take a sip of your vodka and repeat step 3 if necessary. optional 2: You may also take a smoke break here as you have some minutes.


7 - Once the dumplings start to float they are pretty close to being done. optional: Take a sip of your vodka and repeat step 3 if necessary.


8 - Pour out the water and dump the dumplings on to your plate (sorry, forgot to mention that you may need a plate earlier) At this point your glass is likely empty and you may have to refill it and it’s not really optional at this point. optionally you may also just grab the bottle to go with the food.


9 - Enjoy your dumplings and vodka.
